I have a hunch something very exciting is going to happen in the Ds106 market! This week, I started off by making a video essay on the 1983 film, Trading Places! A CONNECTED STORY: The Hermit and no one

This week, we did our usual daily creates, but with a twist! I love a good twist on an existing idea, so I was excited to take my daily's and try and come up with a way to tie them all together into a singular story. I like writing just about as much as I like drawing, designing, or programming, so I couldn't wait until I had my usual 6 daily creates to finish up my narrative. I'm not sure how I came up with this story about an old woman; I think I just tried to imagine myself as…

The show started off strong with a look into the musical stylings of Whitney Houston. I liked how the speaker used sound clips from Whitney's song, "I Wanna Dance with Somebody," and interjected them into her analysis. It made this show's intro memorable, because Whitney Houston's vocals just resonate and stick in your head. The…

I’LL TAKE THE GOOD WITH THE BAD (IDEA)

The radio project is already coming to a close and it's now time to look forward to the weeks ahead with video and remix/mashups! But what should the final projects be about? I'm a somewhat creative person, but even I struggle with coming up with ideas. I'm better at taking an existing idea and trying to come up with ways to give it a new twist. Most of my ideas for our final projects stem from assignments I had in my motion design class, but I tried to make them reflect our course theme. This is just a rough list- I…

I wanted to revisit this work because I originally liked how I took an assignment from the Visual category and turned it into a design assignment. I effectively combined the assignments Unsuspecting Friends and Your Big Break into one big assignment and I had a lot of fun doing it!
